Barnes brings impressive accolades to Valparaiso
MBB: Recent Valpo commit was 4-star recruit that played at Michigan and Tulsa
Isaiah Barnes is coming to Valparaiso to play for Roger Powell Jr. and the pairing has always felt a little inevitable.
Barnes first stepped foot in the Athletics-Recreation Center just four days after his eighth birthday when Powell was a Valparaiso assistant coach. Fast forward eight years and Powell continually stepped foot in the gym at Oak Park’s River Forest High School where Barnes was becoming one of the most sought-after players in the country.
Six years later and their paths have finally converged back at the ARC as Barnes verbally committed to the Beacons earlier this week after stops at Michigan and Tulsa.
