Hosmer introduced as Valparaiso's AD

Padilla and Hosmer lay out vision for how process unfolded and what is to come

Valparaiso University President José Padilla had every intention of conducting a nationwide search for a new athletic director this fall.

He told The Victory Bell as much last spring.

Padilla didn’t have to look far.

Laurel Hosmer, who has been serving as Valparaiso’s interim athletic director since Charles Small suddenly stepped down on Mar. 25., was officially introduced as Valpo’s 17th Director of Athletics on Monday morning.

In a news conference at the Athletics-Recreation Center, Padilla outlined his process for choosing Hosmer, and Hosmer outlined her vision for Valparaiso’s athletic department.
