My 2023-24 Valley MBB Ballot

MBB: There's an art and a science to postseason awards - or sometimes you just guess

ST. LOUIS - I want to start by saying that I view being a voter for the Missouri Valley Conference postseason awards as something that comes with both great honor and great responsibility.

The Valley is all class when it comes to honoring the history of the league and I know that these awards are one small piece of that history. That’s why I spend hours upon hours examining everything before I make my selections. I watch games, I create spreadsheets. I talk to other voters and try to understand what they’re seeing.

Once all the games are complete, I update the spreadsheets, crunch the numbers and then go with my gut before hitting submit. Then the awards get announced and I’m often blown away that either I missed something that everyone else saw or other people just picked the best players on the best teams and filled their ballot out in five minutes.

Before I reveal my 2023-24 Valley men’s basketball ballot, let me explain some of the rules or guidelines.
