Krikke returns to Valparaiso
MBB: Former Valparaiso star one of several alums preparing for this weekend's TBT
Ben Krikke wasn’t sure if there would ever be another time when he would pick up a basketball in the Athletics-Recreation Center.
The former Valparaiso men’s basketball star entered the transfer portal in March of 2023, essentially five minutes after he found out his former head coach - Matt Lottich - had been terminated. Krikke was already in the fold at Iowa by the time Roger Powell Jr. was introduced as Valpo’s new basketball coach.
In just two short years, Krikke’s entire Valpo basketball reality has been turned on its head. Lottich and the rest of the coaching staff are long gone. The only teammate that remains is walk-on Joe Vick.
Still, there was a pull to return. A pull that resulted in Krikke going through drills and, once again, dripping with sweat in the ARC on Thursday morning.
