MBB: Long-term bet pays off for former Valparaiso point guard
DENVER - Jared Nuness sees the image on a daily basis.
The photo captures the moment immediately after Bryce Drew hit “The Shot” 25 years ago. Nuness, a freshman on the 1998 team, has a framed picture of the dogpile celebration in both his house and his office. The point guard is prominently featured in the photograph, letting out a scream of ecstasy while raising his arm in the air.
It has become one of the most indelible images of March Madness.
