Beacons split first day of Popcorn Classic

VB: Valparaiso's large freshman class make home debuts at the Athletics-Recreation Center

VALPARAISO - Friday marked a long day of volleyball at the Athletics-Recreation Center, and for some members of the Valparaiso volleyball team, Friday was a long time coming.

The Beacons made their 2024 debuts at the ARC after spending their first two weekends on the road. Valparaiso swept Miami (Ohio) in the second match of the Popcorn Classic and then fell to Cornell in four sets in the fourth and final match of the night.

While Friday was the first time home fans were able to get a glimpse of Valparaiso’s retooled roster, it also was the first time many members of the roster were playing in front of the home fans.
