VALPARAISO - Robert Marovich Sr. would’ve enjoyed Sunday afternoon.

The late father of Valparaiso women’s soccer coach John Marovich passed away earlier this summer and Sunday marked the first time the Beacons have played at home since his passing.

Valparaiso’s 3-0 win over Purdue Fort Wayne in Sunday’s home opener represented the first time Marovich Sr. wasn’t in the stands for a game coached by his son.

That doesn’t mean he wasn’t present at Brown Field.
