Ok, so maybe my summer plans didn’t go exactly the way I intended.
I had hoped, rather ambitiously, to spend a week focused on each sport at Valparaiso. Turns out I needed a break. It was a thrill to dive deep into baseball, bowling and women’s basketball in June, but then a combination of international travel, an unexpected run in the World Series of Poker and all the TBT stories brought everything to a grinding halt.
I was looking forward to getting back to the “State of the Program” stories and was ready to feature softball. I had even conducted an interview with Amanda Eberhart in early June and was set to publish the story when word came down that she left to take over as Associate Coach at Notre Dame. I took that as a sign.
Something something best laid plans.
With the Valparaiso women’s soccer team back on campus and with football and volleyball right around the corner, I’m shifting my focus to the fall, but not before taking a quick look back at some of the highlights of July.
