WBB: Beacons finish 0-32 after falling to Drake in Missouri Valley Conference tourney opener
CORALVILLE, Iowa - Mikayla Huffine walked off the court and went straight to the athletic trainer.
The Valparaiso senior had just jammed her finger during Thursday’s Missouri Valley Conference tournament opener against Drake and Huffine wanted to get back on the court immediately.
It didn’t matter that the Beacons were trailing by 30 points. It didn’t matter that it was late in the fourth quarter. It didn’t matter that Valparaiso was mere minutes away from setting a NCAA record of futility by finishing the season at 0-32.
None of that mattered to Huffine. She was determined to finish what she started.
