MBB: Beacons close out nonconference play with close loss at Elon

It might have been another loss in the record book on Friday afternoon, but the record book has long stopped being important to Valparaiso men’s basketball coach Roger Powell Jr.

The Beacons fell to Elon 82-78 in the nonconference finale on Friday and in turn, dropped their seventh straight game, marking the program’s longest losing streak in 17 years.

To listen to Powell after Friday’s game was to listen to a coach who isn’t hung up on the results at the moment.
