Column: I hate what college basketball has become
Thursday is supposed to be my favorite day of the year.
The start of the NCAA tournament is the day I look forward to more than any other. It is the unofficial ushering in of spring, but instead of birds chirping, it’s whistles blowing and shoes squeaking that mark the new season.
March Madness helps take our mind off the dreadful winter. By the time the confetti falls during the first week of April, sunshine and rainbows have arrived.
This year? Nothing but dark clouds.

It’s a simple question with a lot of unclear answers, and I don’t like any of them right now.
I don’t like college basketball right now.
