The press conference is over. The media tour is winding down. The adrenaline will eventually wear off.

Once all the dust is settled, it will be time for Roger Powell Jr. to actually begin his job as the Valparaiso men’s basketball coach.

That process has already started and it involved some hard decisions from the jump.

This is the third of a three-part series examining Powell’s hiring. The first story focused on the process Valparaiso athletic director Charles Small used in hiring Powell. The second focused on Valparaiso President Jose Padilla’s vision for a new athletics complex. This story will focus on Powell’s first days on the job.
