Walker excited for Valparaiso cross country

XC: Beacons bringing mix of experience and youth into Walker's second season leading the program

Vincent Walker has high expectations for the Valparaiso men’s and women’s cross country programs this season.

With one meet in the books this season, Walker has already seen progress for what he expects will be a big growth year for the program.

Evan Walda took third overall in the men’s 6k race at the Winrow Open at Sunset Hill in the season-opening meet earlier this month. Freshman Lauren Wroza led the Beacons and finished in the top 15 of the women’s 5k in her first collegiate race.

In his second year leading the program, Walker feels like the building blocks are in place with the current makeup of both rosters.
