Waddle set for first preseason camp with Valparaiso
FB: Valpo football players reporting for camp on Wednesday morning in preparation for 2025 campaign
Andy Waddle has been busy since he was hired as Valparaiso’s football coach last December.
The former Marietta coach spent time getting to know the returners. He traveled the country looking for recruits to rebuild the roster. Waddle put the Beacons through more than a dozen spring practices and then he helped guide an offseason workout program.
About the only thing Waddle hasn’t done yet is the actual thing he was hired to do - coach a football game.
He’ll get one step closer on Wednesday morning when the 2025 Beacons arrive on campus for the start of fall training camp. Upwards of 80 players, including all but three incoming freshmen, were in Valpo for at least a portion of summer workouts, but path toward the Aug. 30 season opener against Virginia Lynchburg begins on Wednesday.
