Swistek aiming for redemption

VB: Valparaiso senior has a few goals in mind for her final season of college volleyball

Elise Swistek is full speed ahead as she begins her senior year on Friday evening.

The Valparaiso outside hitter has two major driving forces as to why this year means so much for her.

The first is a family thing.

“I just want to get through my senior year because everybody in my family got hurt in their senior year,” Swistek said. “Both of my brothers got hurt in their senior year of high school and they couldn’t go to college and play anywhere. My mom got hurt during her senior year of high school. She was committed to Evansville and then she tore her ACL and she couldn’t go. I’m making it through my senior year.”

The second reason is a personal thing.
