Summer plans for The Victory Bell

Just because the games have stopped doesn't mean the bell stops ringing

There are roughly 80 days until Valparaiso Athletics is back in action.

While The Victory Bell thought about using that time to go around the world, that wouldn’t be any fun for the readers. Instead, I’m planning a summer full of content for all paid subscribers.

Beginning this Monday and lasting until the final week of August, each sport at Valparaiso will get its own week of coverage at The Victory Bell. Some weeks will have multiple teams of the same sport in order to fit all 17 programs into a 13-week period.

Each week will consist of three stories beginning with an overall state of the program on Monday. The piece will examine how each team has fared in the last five years since Valparaiso joined the Missouri Valley Conference. Wednesday’s piece will be a feature story on a current athlete or coach. Friday’s story will be a historical piece that will look back on some of the great athletes or moments in program history.

Paid subscribers will receive an email three times per week with this exclusive content. The content will also be available to all paid subscribers on TheVictoryBell.com. That’s right! The site now has a custom domain that should make it easier to navigate on the web. Make sure to update your bookmarks.

This weekend will mark fourth months since The Victory Bell launched and I’d like to genuinely thank those of you who have subscribed. All paid subscribers will be entered into drawings throughout the summer for prizes. The first giveaway will take place next week. Stay tuned to find out what it is.
