Signed, sealed and ready to work
FB: A position-by-position look at Valparaiso's 2024 recruiting class
Surreal. Hungry. Ready to work.
Those have been the overwhelming feelings coming from the newest members of the Valparaiso football program as National Signing Day arrived on Wednesday.
Over the last two days, more than a dozen new commits have spoken to The Victory Bell, expressing their feelings on reaching one goal and their eagerness to start working toward another.
For the majority of Valparaiso’s 33 new recruits - 30 of them from the prep ranks - Wednesday marked the day when they officially became Division I athletes. Putting pen to paper was a culmination of years of work and the moment wasn’t lost on the future Beacons. Some of the players have followed in the footsteps of family members who played football in college and beyond while others have been underdogs their entire lives.
Now they’ll all get a chance to prove themselves at the Division I level.
(It should be noted that tracking down non-scholarship football recruiting info is often like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles. The following is the most complete and accurate list that I could assemble according to social media and my conversations with recruits. There’s always a chance the list may continue to evolve deep into the summer. - PO)
