Season Reset: Inside the numbers with Valparaiso football
FB: Beacons return to Brown Field for the first time in five weeks
If it seems like forever since the Valparaiso football team has played on Brown Field, well, forever isn’t far off.
The Beacons will play at home for the first time in 35 days on Saturday afternoon when Dayton comes to town for Valpo’s Pioneer Football League home opener.
The last sight of the Beacons in Northwest Indiana was the players walking off the field under an impressive fireworks display following a 10-7 loss to Adrian, a Division III team that has outscored its opponents 220-34 in the last four weeks.
Valparaiso hasn’t been as fortunate in the month since it played at home as it was outscored 150-37 in three road losses. The Beacons traveled to Macomb and dropped a 51-30 game to Western Illinois. The following week was another tilt against a FCS-scholarship program, this time, a 58-7 loss to No. 16 North Dakota. Following a bye week, the Beacons were shutout 41-0 at Drake in the PFL opener.
Here is a position-by-position numbers breakdown for the Beacons as they near the midway point of the 2025 campaign.
