Season Reset: Beacons finding identity
SOC: Valparaiso returning to Brown Field for first home match in 25 days
While it might feel like an eternity since the Valparaiso women’s soccer team has played a home match, it’s not as if the Beacons haven’t already spent plenty of time on Brown Field this season.
Valpo hosted three matches during the nonconference slate and were due to host a fourth before Chicago State pulled out of a planned meeting on Sept. 14.
That means when the Beacons take the field to host Illinois State in the Missouri Valley Conference home opener on Thursday night, it will have been 25 days since Valparaiso played at Brown Field.
For a team that has spent much of the nonconference season on the the road, returning to a familiar place might just be what the youthful Beacons need as they look to improve upon their 3-5-1 record.
