MBB: The headline says it all

CHICAGO - There was a time when those in the Valparaiso men’s basketball program hated playing Chicago State.

Not because there was ever a fear of losing to the Cougars, but because there was a fear that playing the perennial bottom feeders of the Mid-Continent Conference would torpedo Valparaiso’s RPI to the point that it would result in a lower seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

That was in the past.
