Five Questions with Valparaiso's baseball coach

Brian Schmack is ready to begin his ninth season at the helm of the Valparaiso baseball program this weekend when the Beacons travel to Memphis for a season-opening series with the Tigers. Valpo is coming off a year where it won two games in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament for the first time, eliminating Missouri State and Illinois State in the process. The Beacons have been picked to finish last in the Valley this year, but expectations are high inside the clubhouse. I spoke with Schmack on the eve of the start of the season.
