Possible candidates for Valpo women's hoops
WBB: The Victory Bell Search Firm is back with some options for Valpo opening
Laurel Hosmer has made three head coach hires since taking over the Valparaiso athletic department one year ago today.
The first came last May when John Martin was tabbed to lead the Valparaiso bowling program. The Beacons recently wrapped up the regular season nationally ranked before falling in the Conference USA tournament last week.
Hosmer’s second hire came last June when she brought on Mike Armitage to lead the Valparaiso softball program. The Beacons are 12-13 this season and have already eclipsed the nine wins the program had from a year ago.
The third hire came in early December when Andy Waddle was hired to take over the football program. While Waddle hasn’t coached a game yet, all reports are positive out of Kronecke Hall as spring practice recently got underway.
Hosmer is now staring down a fourth hire, and perhaps the most important of her tenure thus far, as there is an opening atop the Valparaiso women’s basketball program.
Mary Evans and the school mutually agreed to part ways last week and Hosmer is now tasked with filling the office that leads the sport that is seeing unprecedented eyeballs on the national level.
Knowing this decision can be tough, and reminding all that money is tight, The Victory Bell Search Firm is back to offer up its services free of charge (well, there is a charge to read the article) with a list of candidates that Valparaiso ought to consider.
This is a reminder that TVBSF isn’t going to single out any coach that is currently on Valparaiso’s staff. Jon Hill is currently serving as the Interim Head Coach and there are several other coaches still on the staff. Hosmer and any potential search firm being used already has all of their information. This article will take a look at some other individuals, some with connections to Valparaiso, and some without. With that being said…
