Pickett ready for Valparaiso debut
VB: Redshirt freshman middle hitter back after missing last season with knee injury
Jessica Pickett had hoped she was going to spend her first season at Valparaiso adapting to playing volleyball at the collegiate level.
Instead she had to spend her first year in Northwest Indiana adapting how to get around a college campus on crutches.
Pickett, a redshirt freshman from Carmel, suffered a knee injury soon after she started fall workouts last year and it ultimately cost the middle hitter her entire season.
Now fully recovered, the tallest player in program history at 6-foot-6 is ready to make an impact when the 2024 season begins this weekend in Indianapolis.
