Michael Mansaray rumbles past a Roosevelt defender on Saturday afternoon at Brown Field (Brian Chilton)

VALPARAISO - Michael Mansaray did a little bit of everything on Saturday afternoon.

The redshirt senior running back notched his first 100-yard rushing performance in a Valparaiso uniform. Mansaray also delivered a pair of impressive touchdown runs, the second being an 18-yard scamper in double overtime that led the Beacons to an eventual 31-23 win over Roosevelt in the nonconference finale at Brown Field.

Mansaray also added a unique distinction to his resume on Saturday. By virtue of opening the game in a wildcat formation, Mansaray was technically the starting quarterback and therefore earned a “quarterback win.”

He truly earned that win as Mansaray ran out of the wildcat formation on what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in double overtime.
