Late runs by opposition sink both Valparaiso basketball programs on Saturday

To happen once was absurd. To happen a second time felt like a cruel joke being played by a higher power.

Those words were originally written in the wake of the Valparaiso men’s basketball game at Missouri State. They were meant to draw comparison between last season’s loss in Springfield and Saturday’s loss to the Bears. Then the Valparaiso women’s game unfolded at Illinois State and the words took on a whole new meaning.

Simply put, the final minutes of Saturday’s games were unbelievable.
