WBB: Beacons shine in front of large group of local fifth-graders

VALPARAISO - For the better part of 40 minutes on Tuesday afternoon there was a steady stream of individuals walking by the Athletics-Recreation Center followed by screams of celebration.

No, it wasn’t the Valparaiso women’s basketball team routinely getting to the basket and scoring during Tuesday’s 81-40 win over Trinity Christian, but the postgame celebration where scores of local fifth-graders celebrated with the Beacons at the Victory Bell.

Students from Valparaiso Community Schools came out for Valpo’s game on Tuesday and were loud from beginning to end as the Beacons gave them something to cheer about.
