Brayden Welch had every reason to stay in Oregon after last season.
The Valparaiso tight end tore his ACL early in the year and never got to see the field. The head coach that recruited him was gone. The position coach that worked with him left as well. Some upperclassmen that Welch looked up to were also gone.
With uncertainty at every turn, Welch could’ve easily found a school in the Pacific Northwest and put Valparaiso in the rearview mirror. There’s a very simple reason why Welch chose to return.
