Joiner's magical goal caps off thrilling comeback for Valparaiso
SOC: Beacons score twice in final 20 minutes to knock off Milwaukee in home opener
VALPARAISO - The legend of Addy Joiner continued to grow on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 1-0 late in Valparaiso’s home opener against Milwaukee at Brown Field, Joiner first used a nifty pass across the top of the box to deliver the ball to Sam Gountounas for a match-tying goal in the 71st minute.
The Chesterton product then scored one of the most impressive goals of her collegiate career as she wove through two defenders and punched in a shot in the 88th minute to secure the comeback victory.
Sunday’s victory marked Valparaiso’s second come-from-behind win in the young 2024 season.
