Long before Damar Hamlin became a household name on Monday night, the Buffalo Bills defensive back had earned a reputation in the eyes of Trent Miller.

The Valparaiso defensive lineman grew up 20 miles from Hamlin and the pair went to rival high schools in Pittsburgh. Hamlin played for Central Catholic while Miller played at Pine-Richland. Miller is several years younger than Hamlin and never played against him on the field, but Miller was certainly aware of Hamlin growing up.
