Four takeaways from Valparaiso's 77-64 win over Lindenwood
MBB: Schwieger leads four players in double figures as Beacons earn first Division I win of the year
VALPARAISO - Roger Powell Jr. knew his Valparaiso men’s basketball team had put in a lot of work in the nine days since it last played a game.
He didn’t want that work to stop when the Beacons took the floor against Lindenwood at the Athletics-Recreation Center on Thursday night and he made that message clear earlier in the day.
“I shared a quote with our team during Team Time this week and that quote said ‘Opportunities often come disguised in overalls,’” Powell said. “I wore some overalls to our shootaround just to say that this is hard work. It’s going to take hard work.”
The Beacons put forward that work on Thursday, overcoming a slow start to knock off Lindenwood 77-64 as Cooper Schwieger led four players in double figures with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
