Four takeaways from Valparaiso's 10-7 loss to Adrian
FB: Five turnovers haunt Beacons in loss to Division III program
VALPARAISO - For a few fleeting moments the feeling of euphoria was flowing through Brown Field on Saturday night.
After failing to score for the first 58 minutes and 35 seconds against Adrian, the Valparaiso football team finally hit paydirt by way of a Dawaiian McNeely rushing touchdown.
The Beacons led 7-3 with 85 seconds remaining and needed to just hold off the Division III school from Michigan in order to secure the victory. The Bulldogs had other ideas as quarterback Noah Beaudrie marched Adrian down the field in four plays. The Mount Union transfer connected with Ethan Abberger for a 26-yard touchdown with 26 seconds remaining.
Valparaiso’s Rowan Keefe moved the Beacons beyond midfield on the ensuing drive when he completed a 34-yard pass to Jay Melchiori with 15 seconds remaining. Keefe then took a deep shot downfield, but Ethan Burrows easily intercepted the pass to cap off Adrian’s 10-7 victory.
