In a season that has featured more frustration than fruition, everything seemingly came together for one drive last Saturday for the Valparaiso football team.
The Beacons took the ball and marched down the field against St. Thomas and scored to take their first lead in a game since late in the fourth quarter against Adrian in the second week of the season.
The bottom fell out quickly as the Tommies scored 24 straight points and 48 of the next 51 on their way to a 55-17 blowout victory.
