Dr. Charles Small to be named Valparaiso athletic director

Former Pitt basketball player held admin positions at Iowa State and Arkansas

Dr. Charles Small will be introduced as Valparaiso’s new Director of Athletics on Thursday morning.

A source with direct knowledge of the hire confirmed that Small was tabbed by Valparaiso President José Padilla after the school held a national search following outgoing athletic director Mark LaBarbera’s retirement announcement in February.
