Beacons optimistic heading into Valley tourney

SB: Valpo softball enters conference tourney after knocking off No. 2 seed in penultimate game of the regular season

Records get thrown out the window when the regular season ends and the postseason begins.

That would seemingly be a positive for the Valparaiso softball team following a 9-39 regular season that saw the Beacons finish with a 3-20 record in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Valparaiso interim head coach Laney Jones doesn’t want to throw the record out. She’s embracing it as the Beacons prepare to open the first round of the Valley conference tournament on Wednesday morning against Bradley.
