Beacons open season with strong performance
WTEN: Stars shine as Valparaiso sweeps Holy Cross
VALPARAISO - It was hard to script a better start to the 2023-24 season for the Valparaiso women’s tennis team on Sunday morning.
The weather was beautiful, which allowed for the Beacons to open the season at the Valparaiso Tennis Complex as opposed to playing indoors. A trio of newcomers made their program debuts and helped Valpo roll to a 7-0 victory over Holy Cross.
Perhaps most importantly, Olivia Czerwonka was back on the tennis court where she belonged.
