VALPARAISO - It’s rare the outcome of a basketball game comes down to one play.

That reality doesn’t soften the blow when a singular play falls short that could’ve shifted the outcome in a different direction.

Such was the case on Saturday afternoon when Darius DeAveiro stepped to the free throw line with the opportunity to send the Valparaiso men’s basketball team to overtime against Evansville at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
