MBB: Saturday's game slips away from Valparaiso down the stretch

VALPARAISO - There was a moment on Saturday afternoon when all felt right at the Athletics-Recreation Center.

Valparaiso freshman guard All Wright knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Beacons a 70-69 lead over UIC with 3:12 remaining. Wright’s shot was part of a 16-4 run that helped Valparaiso erase an 11-point deficit and give the hosts a lead for the first time since the 13:49 mark of the first half.

Wright buried the shot, threw his arms in the air, and implored the crowd to soak in the moment.

The moment didn’t last.
