VB: Valparaiso sweeps third match of tournament for third straight weekend

VALPARAISO - The third time continues to be the charm for the Valparaiso volleyball team.

The Beacons swept Purdue Fort Wayne at the Athletics-Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon to close out the Popcorn Classic. Valparaiso’s 25-16, 25-17, 25-19 victory over the Mastodons marked the third straight weekend it has swept the final match of a tournament.

Valpo finished the tournament with a 2-1 record with the lone loss coming to Cornell, the eventual tournament champions. The Big Red swept Miami (Ohio) in Saturday’s opener.
